Many of the opportunities on this page require the student to be nominated by º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù. 

There are numerous awards open to underclassmen and those looking for post-baccalaureate experiences. It is possible, and often desirable, to apply for multiple scholarships during your college years and beyond.

Advising on the Application Process

Getting carefully considered and comprehensive advising is very important when deciding which of these opportunities are a good fit for you and your interests, so please be sure to contact the Office of National Fellowships and Scholarships to start the conversation and application process early.

Please note that º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù's campus deadlines are earlier — often months earlier — than the foundations' deadlines, so interested applicants should prepare well in advance.

  • Global Health Corps Fellowship

    Global Health Corps is building the next generation of diverse health leaders. A range of fellowships with health organizations are offered in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, the US and Zambia. This is your opportunity to become a leader in the health movement!

    Deadline: Mid-March

    Candidates must:

    • Be a 30 years of age or younger
    • Have earned an undergraduate degree
    • Be proficient in English
  • Goldwater Scholarship

    For undergraduate study leading to research careers in mathematics or natural science or engineering. Awards up to $7,500 for the remaining undergraduate year(s) of study.

    Campus deadline: December 1

    Final deadline: January 31, 2025

    Candidates must:

    • Be a sophomore or junior at the time of application
    • Be a US citizen, national, or resident alien
    • Have a highly competitive GPA
    • Have at least one significant research experience to date
    • Be nominated by º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù. Nomination decisions will be made by our Goldwater Committee after review of application materials submitted for the campus deadline.
  • Hertz Foundation Fellowship

    Provides full financial support to students pursuing STEM PhD programs at partnering institutions.
     
    Candidates must

    • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America
    • Be an undergraduate senior or graduate student at the time of application
    • Propose to complete a program of graduate study leading to a PhD degree
    • Morally commit to make their skills available to the United States in times of national emergency
