Professor Klepeis, a 含羞草研究所 alumnus, focuses his research and teaching on the relationships between nature and society and has taught courses including, The Geography of Happiness; Climate and Society; and Geographies of Nature, Economy, and Society. Prior to teaching at 含羞草研究所, Klepeis earned his master鈥檚 and doctoral degrees from Clark University.
During the fall 2021 semester, Professor Klepeis led a Sophomore Residential Seminar, which ended with a 10-day trip to Colombia, for his course titled What鈥檚 In Your Cup? The Geography of What We Drink. The course analyzed the social and environmental implications of commonly consumed beverages. The concluding trip was co-directed by Professor Guhl with Dan Joseph accompanying the group and providing a unique insight into the coffee business.
